Barro Verde Chia Pet Ram

"Chia Pet" became popular product sold on TV but the idea was extracted from different parts of Mexico. Animals are created for Semana Santa in Santa Maria Atzompa where they specialize in green glazed ceramics.

These chia pets are easy to germinate and last about a month. In order to create the chia paste for your pet:

• Soak your pet in water for 24 hours
• Add 1/4 cup of water to 2 teaspoons of grocery bought chia seeds
• Stir the seed mixture until it becomes tacky
• Spread the seeds evenly over the grooves in your chia pet
• Fill pet with water and refill every couple of days
